Montreal rock band The Corks are back in 2021 with a brand new single and music video, ‘’Can’t Stop’’, available on all platforms now. Directed by Jonathan Verreault, who also acts as the band's drummer, the video's dynamicity and satirical undertones perfectly reflect the band's high energy and lighthearted personality.
Recorded by Peter Edwards (Grimskunk) at Studio Plateau in Montreal and mixed by Ryan Battistuzzi, ‘’Can’t Stop’’ highlights the band's rock influences all while injecting solid grooves and exploring a more polished yet stripped-down sound. The song features funky basslines, empowering lyrics, catchy choruses and of course, wailing guitars. With simplicity in mind, The Corks add to their singles library with a cut that will throw the listener on their feet and leave them with melodies their minds just can’t get rid of.
Their new single ‘’Can’t Stop’’ is a follow-up to their last effort, ‘’Already Gone’’, released in October 2020. Both new songs see the band returning to their rock roots all while exploring a more refined, elegant sound.
Formed in 2015, The Corks are a four-piece alternative rock band from Montreal. What started off as a couple of friends jamming covers together slowly turned into a songwriting powerhouse. Philippe Moisan (guitar), Sacha Gubany (vocals), Jonathan Verreault (drums) and Vincent Lambert (bass) met in their first year of University and instantly clicked through their common love for rock’n’roll.
Some of the band’s highlights include being featured as one of Montreal’s top 5 acts to watch in 2017, and playing multiple shows across Ontario and Quebec, including festivals like CMW and Indie Week.
