This year, COVID-19 has deprived us of many award shows, concerts, and festivals from all over the world.
In Montreal’s case, it was a year without Piknic Electronik, OSHEAGA, and Ile Soniq—three of the city’s most important summer music festivals.
Tam-tams were supposedly cancelled as well, but you would still find people hanging around Parc Mont Royal enjoying Montreal’s rare warm weather. Not as big, and boisterous as previous years has shown, but our people do what they gotta do.
There is no doubt that the ongoing pandemic demanded such measures to ensure people’s safety, and with 2020 coming to an end, everyone’s hoping to put it behind us.
And the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be nearing, with OSHEAGA’s 2021 line-up! Three days of music, partying, and enjoying live shows at last from July 30th to Aug. , at Parc Jean-Drapeau!
Top headliners include the ever-renowned Foo Fighters, the “WAP” singer and cultural phenomenon Cardi B, and rap favourite Post Malone.
Now of course, OSHEAGA’s management team made sure to include in their announcement that the event will be postponed should the pandemic carry onto the next year.
But it sure feels good to feel a flicker of normalcy for us music lovers!
